Claims Summary
1. An integrated circuit comprising:
a network of on-chip passive waveguides and two-channel directional couplers, each respective two-channel directional coupler employing evanescent coupling for switching of optical signals between two channels through the respective directional coupler, said two-channel directional couplers realized from a plurality of layers formed on a substrate, said layers comprising at least one modulation doped quantum well structure.
