| Abstract: |
A rose plant of the miniature class, a sport of the variety POULvic, having a different flower color from its parent. |
| Claim: |
We claim:
1. A new and distinct variety of rose plant of the miniature class, substantially as herein shown and described, a sport of the variety POULvic characterized particularly by its flowercolor difference from its parent. |
| Description: |
The present invention relates to a new and distinct variety of rose plant of the miniature class which was discovered by us as a mutation of the varietyPOULvic, U.S. Plant Pat. No. 8,012.
This variety is unique and distinct from its parent variety, POULvic, principally in its flower color. Instead of having petals that are of Red Group 45C color, the petals are Red Group 56C on their upper sides and Red Group 56A on their reversesides.
Asexual reproduction of this new variety by softwood cuttings, as performed at Somis, Calif., and Fredensborg, Denmark, shows that the foregoing characteristics and distinctions come true to form and are established and transmitted throughsucceeding propagations.
The accompanying illustration shows typical specimens of the vegetative growth and flowers of this new variety in different stages of development, depicted in color as nearly true as it is reasonably possible to make thesame in a color illustration of this character.
The following is a detailed description of my new rose cultivar with color descriptions using terminology in accordance with The Royal Horticultural Society (London) Colour Chart, except whereordinary dictionary significance of color is indicated.
