Abstract: A hybrid tea rose variety having heavy fragrance, unique white blending to light yellow at the center flower color, tough leathery foliage, heavy flower production, and many thorns on branches.
Claim: I claim:

1. A new and distinct variety of rose plant of the hybrid tea class, substantially as herein shown and described, characterized particularly as to novelty by its heavy fragrance, highflower production, unique white with yellow at the center flower color, strong upright growth, leathery disease resistant foliage and numerous thorns.
Description: This present invention relates to a newand distinct variety of rose plant named Jactew of the hybrid tea class which was originated by me by crossing the variety White Masterpiece, U.S. Plant Pat. No. 2,998, with the variety Sunbright, U.S. Plant Pat. No. 4,438.

The primary objective of this breeding was to produce a new rose variety having the disease resistance and heavy flowering of the male parent Sunbright, coupled with the fragrance of the female White Masterpiece. The objective was substantiallyachieved along with other desirable improvements as evidenced by the following unique combination of characteristics which are outstanding in the new variety and which distinguish it from its parents as well as from all other varieties of which I amaware:

1. Heavy fragrance.

2. Unique white blending to light yellow at the center flower color.

3. Tough leathery foliage.

4. Heavy flower production.

5. Many thorns on branches.

Asexual reproduction of this new variety by budding, as performed at Wasco, Calif., shows that the foregoing characteristics and distinctions come true to form and are established and transmitted through succeeding propagations.

Theaccompanying illustration shows typical specimens of the vegetative growth and flowers of this new variety in different stages of development, depicted in color as nearly true as it is reasonably possible to make the same in a color illustration of thischaracter.

The following is a detailed description of my new rose cultivar with color in terminology in accordance with The Royal Horticultural Society Colour Chart except where ordinary dictionary significances of color is indicated.
