| Abstract: |
A new and distinct variety of geranium plant particularly distinguished by the light violet color of its florets which becomes white at the center, by the very large size of its flower clusters, each of which contains about seventy well-formed florets, each floret being about 4.5 cm. in diameter and having from five to six petals; also by its abundant, dark green leaves which have no zonation and extend about 19 cm. above the soil; and by its upright, bushy growth habit, having a total height of about 30 cm. |
| Claim: |
I claim:
1. The new variety of geranium plant, substantially as herein shown and described and particularly distinguished by the very large size of its flower clusters and the light pinkcoloration of the individual florets. |
| Description: |
BACKGROUND OF THE NEW PLANT
My new geranium variety was originated at my nursery in Stuttgart, West Germany, in 1984, the new plant being a seedling selected from plants produced by a hybrid resulting from my crossing of the variety `PAC-532` with the pollen parent`PAC-614`, my object being to produce a light pink, early and double blooming variety. The new plant was selected for propagation because of its most nearly meeting my breeding objective and the selected plant was asexually reproduced under my directionat Stuttgart by means of cuttings. Propagation of this plant was carried on through several succesive generations, which demonstrated conclusively that the distinctive characteristics of this new variety remain true from generation to generation andappear to be firmly fixed. At present, propagation is being done at Stuttgart by means of cuttings.
DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING
My new geranium variety is illustrated by the accompanying full color photographic print, which shows the form and color of the individual florets which comprise a full cluster, the color rendition being as nearly true to that herein specified asis reasonably possible to obtain by conventional photographic procedures.
