The sweet spot area on the front of the club is filled with a lightweight material that extends toward the rear of the club and is both lighter in weight than the surrounding club head material and having a light transmitting quality. The material may serve as a light passageway for sunlight to travel from the rear of the club to the front face of the club and so illuminate the sweet spot on the front face of the club.
