An apparatus for applying adhesive to fibrous material in which a generally horizontal cylindrical member is provided having an inlet in the top near one end and an outlet in the bottom near the other end. A shaft is rotatable on the axis of the cylindrical member and has radially extending tools thereon angularly spaced from one another and disposed in a substantially helical path along the shaft.
