Description: Process in which (a) the plurality of gases to be separated enters a column to contact a liquid, known as the "stationary liquid phase," supported by a base of solid material to successively sorb therein the different gases of the mixture or (b) the plurality of gases to be separated enters a column to contact a solid sorbent to successively sorb thereon the different gases of the mixture with or without subsequently successively eluting or displacing the sorbed gases in (a) or (b) with a gas which is inert with respect to the sorbed gases and sorbent; and subcombinations of the processes in (a) and (b) that do not result in separation when the subcombinations are not provided for elsewhere.
